Doh , never thought of doing that, I supposed I should take the dash piece off again and than the center trim piece and mount it there, the only problem is that I have lost so many of the little blue clips down into the car that's it a wonder the trim piece that goes over the air conditioning vents is still secure but it is.

Does anyone know where I can buy a bag of those blue clips?

Any help would be appreciated
Terry
According to stresstest , in another thread, "Ford Part number: W717661 S300".

When I Google it, it certainly looks like the right part, but over $1 a piece? :eyebulge:

My antenna is mounted behind my rear view mirror on the windshield. Had it in the same spot with my TomTop and have never had any issues. Just an FYI.

Oh I know, I was just throwing it out there where I have it since I felt it was really easy to run the wire like that.

I placed mine based on your video OEMRadio. Haven't had any issues. Great vid by the way. Between your video and the one for the Rosen unit, install was a breeze.

Thanks for the compliments on the video.. I hate hearing myself.. But glad they help.. And others find them useful.. One thing I do want to add.. When you tie up any of the excess wire.. Especially on signal or antenna wiring.. Make sure to loop the wire versus just smashing it flat on the ends and taping it flat.. You want it in a circle.. There is a definite affect on things if you do not loop the wire..

Just a little note..

Problem with movie playback through HDMI -

Using an iPhone 5S plugged in to the apple HDMI adapter through the HDMI plug - I downloaded (legally) a digital copy of the new Star Wars movie in an MP4 format and added it to my iTunes library on my phone - plays perfectly on my phone, video and audio are fine.
Plug it in to the HDMI adapter and launch the movie - audio is just a bunch of choppy static. If I switch the movie over to the option that's there for sight-impaired people (where it audibly describes what's happening on the screen), it comes through the stereo fine... but I don't want to hear all that - I want to hear the normal audio.
I can launch youtube/netflix and audio is fine for those.. but since this phone doesn't have an active SIM card in it - I want to just use it for storing movies to play on the screen in the car (instead of using Netflix/Youtube) - any thoughts?
nobody???

Kind of curious if there are any Tomtops being replaced (and available) after the 1st batch went out.

Loaded up some .mp4 music videos on my thumb drive, plugged it into the units aux usb cable in my glove box, selected the source from the menu and bam, music videos up on my 8" screen, have to say just about the most fun I have had in my car, cranking Nicki Minja - Starships and Peter Gabriel - Sledehammer videos for now, fantastic experience, never had something like this in a car before. And of course now my mission is to scour the internet for a bunch more vids, lol.
any recommendations on good places to get music videos or other .mp4 files for this?

They can be purchased from iTunes/Amazon, downloaded from Youtube, or downloaded from 'other sources' ;)

X0AYHAM0X You seem to have a bit of experience with these units, do you know of a way to create/use playlists for the Audio tab (i.e. - if the mp3s are on a drive connected to the unit's USB, rather than USB 1/2 for Sync)?

So far, no luck with m3u files, which is what Sync recognizes.

Thanks!
Joe
