My car was loaded in the front near cab , in a 5 car trailer. No damage but was VERY close coming off to the fascia and in the hump areas of the trailer between cars.

I already pinged my salesman re this. He simply said I can reject the car or they will correct minor damage. I said I want the car, can't you call someone and point them at these instructions to avoid a stupid mistake which is easily preventable. :frusty:

He agreed to call me for truck off load saying I will stand around for 2 days. Fine.

FOR THOSE ALREADY DELIVERED: If I bring 2x10 boards (just like I have to do on my car trailer) to place at end of the ramps to ease the drop off the ramp, would that protect it? Thanks

You don’t want to know

Hard to say - as far as I can tell, the chances for damage are about equal for loading and unloading. The only way to know for sure is to inspect the underside before it comes off the truck.

I'm sure the cars move a few times during transport at different delivery locations

And in my opinion, this is the major problem. The cars may be loaded properly from the rail yard but since there may be other dropoffs prior to the destination of the 350 the trucker decides he doesn't have time to do it right and loads the car improperly. I bet this would be the case with the CO hanging off the back of he hauler.

i see some transport drivers still drive down loading ramps at fast speed because they have 8 vehicles to unload and make another round

My car trailer has a 4' long dove tail that is 11" from the top of the trailer floor to the ground. The ramps that came with the trailer are 6' long and when I tried loading the car onto my trailer the bumper would of hit, mind you I haven't installed my front splitter yet because I'm waiting to get a GT350R splitter. I don't trust using boards because I'm always worried they will break or slap the bottom side of my car or slip out. I bought a set of RACE RAMPS. These are AWESOME! they are very light (about 5 pounds each) made of foam and the front end has a ton of room for clearance. They are not cheap, but either is our cars. With my steel ramps and the race ramps the angle is very gradual and the total length is about 11 -12 feet. I'm glad I bought them. They have a spray on bed liner coating on them and can be used in gravel also, my driveway is gravel and I thought the stones would of punctured the bottom but nothing happened to them at all. Also it rises the car almost 7" off the ground at its highest point if you need to use them in your garage. I plan on getting their drive up system that gets the whole car 14" off the ground.

Mine was loaded correctly, even with it loaded correctly, it looked real sketch getting off the ramps onto the ground. Some 2x8s under the ramps would have given it a bigger safety margin
