I didn't want to rant and rave, but my car was delivered loaded incorrectly also. The splitter covers up MOST of the damage, but not all of it. It really is a shame that the truck drivers can't follow simple instructions.

If I had been paying a huge ADM or putting the car up as a collectors item, I would have raised hell. Honestly, I'd hate to know that Ford would be responsible for painting and matching a new front bumper cover. :/

I never would of accepted that car...sorry but that's inexcusable with the warnings posted on the window including even a pictogram to help those who have problems understanding written instructions! Seriously...

Wow,...that is pretty messed up. I would definitely raise hell and want whomever is accountable to be held accountable. That's unacceptable on a new car, ESPECIALLY when it is a recurring issue.
Now,...correct me if I am wrong. But, I think that the transport company are the ones that have to pay for the repairs and such, and not Ford. The trucking companies are responsible, correct? It's out of Ford's hands if the cars are loaded incorrectly and damage is incurred during transport.

That's a damn crying shame.

Here used to be something said for doing your job right... Guess it doesn't matter anymore.

Why not just tell Ford Performance to read this thread? My car is due to be shipped at the end of the month. I'm too particular to be able to live with any damage...even if you have to look under the car to see it!

Because they asked me to e-mail info they could forward to the appropriate staff.

This is my point. Ford isn't at fault for the transport company. BUT!!! Ford is and should be held responsible for the transportation company when it's on fords property. If and when a vehicle is loaded incorrectly on fords property (flat rock in this case) then the transportation company should be inspected and held responsible before it leaves the flat rock grounds. If any damage is seen then the transportation company should be reported and instructed. Every Shelby I saw at flat rock had the giant yellow reverse loading sticker on the drivers door. If the truck driver can't see that then maybe he needs a eye exam. It's ridiculous how many of these cars are leaving the plant with damage, and the ones leaving by train still get loaded by truck at some point. Someone needs to take action and responsibility for this. When I was 17 I worked at a steel mill as a over head crane operator, I loaded semis with coils of steel everyday weighing as much as 60,000 pounds. It was my responsibility to make sure the truck driver used chains and binders to secure the steel because often times the truck drivers wanted to use nylon ratchet straps. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a sharp steel edge will cut through a nylon strap like butter. Let alone who in their right mind would trust a 60,000 pound coil or 80,000 pounds worth of steel to a nylon strap? A idiot. If I let the driver go with nylon straps and no chains it would be my neck and if the steel would of came off the truck during transport I'd hate myself knowing someone could of got hurt or died. If enough reports get back to ford for loading and transportation damage I think something may change.

That's exactly what happened in my case. The dealer filed a claim with Ford, including pictures, that had to be approved by Ford before the dealer's body shop could start repairs. Of course, the claim also included all the other body and paint issues with the car that caused me to refuse delivery; the transport damages only were a small part of the total bill.

If enough reports get back to ford for loading and transportation damage I think something may change.
Exactly right.

It's almost impossible to damage vehicles with these new trailers, you can drop the air and the trailer is almost touching the ground. I would never put the last car on backwards, how can I get out of the car? The 3 car haulers are a different story, but if the ramps are long enough they shouldn't do any damage

It's called in a hurry and laziness. They don't care. My car trailer is 16" from ground to top of trailer floor. I also have a 4' long dove tail and the rear of it is 12" from the ground. I have to use 10 foot ramps to avoid hitting the bumper and I don't even have my splitter on yet. When I go up the ramps I have at the very min 1-1/4".

So how do you know more about shipping Mustangs than the engineers who designed everything on these cars from the ground up, including acceptable shipping methods for the GT 350s? Obviously, a lot of cars are getting damaged by not following the prescribed loading procedures. I've yet to hear about a car that was loaded properly and suffered damages like we're talking about here.

I work right next to a rail yard and every single day I see vetts coming in by the truck loads, all covered up and loaded onto trucks. I am courious how many of them are damaged since they sit lower.

An 18 wheeler and a car trailer are 2 different things. Explain to me how I can get out of the car backed on the trailer when a huge metal brace is inches from the door. You won't stay in the business of car hauling if you keep damaging cars

I'm not comparing the two. I'm just stating the reported damage by the transportation. You can't deny facts.
