I am dead serious about this too. I'm going to Mad Max, Ford Raptor this princess. I've always loved having the ability to commute through hurricanes and blizzards in my past vehicles, but I also love the open air feeling of having nothing above me (due to motorcycles). I know Jeep would be the obvious answer, but I hate having even a single roll bar above my head plus the manual labor involved in removing the roof.

Hopefully, I will be back to revive this thread in 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. It won't be as extreme as some of these pictures, most likely a 4-5" lift as anymore would result in boots, shafts, steering alignment issues.

Awesome! I love original thinking, when modding cars! Keep going, Almost all the other owner’s cars are modded using a cookie cutter.....all the same , no individuality.

I mean.....I'd could see simply using standard suspension but with M&S tires. That would be bitchin'.

Anyways, let us see what you do, can't wait to see the results.

Those all do look cool. There was a point in my life where I realllyyy wanted to uplift and travel europe. The idea of fitting an extra fuel tank in the trunk, ripping out all the seats for necessities, and having raised fat tires to go anywhere, was extremely appealing on my old mustang. Mad max that bitch across the continent!

It’s actually cool to see this thread is going to come to fruition. Thumbs up for doing something different.

Good luck and remember..

This wouldn’t work if you ever want to go any larger than 29” tires due to the spring perch getting in the way. How do I know this? Because my dumbass installed 29.2” tires the other week

and it just barely rubs the spring perch,

which led to me doing some serious research over the past 2 weeks.

After some back and forth with the supplier and an experienced local mechanic who has done lifts on different types of vehicles. This is really starting to look very doable. Just wish I held off longer on new tires, because without the spring perch in the way, I have more tire options only being limited by my wheel well instead of the suspension.

I think I might try to pull this off before snowfall so I can really try out extra clearance. The only thing I have left to do before pulling the trigger is to look over my brake lines to make sure they have enough slack for a few extra inches.
