Illiminated Sill Plates

I got the Helm Manual on CD, but haven't really had a chance to look at it yet. Does it show the hook-up that doesn't require wire splicing?

The sill plates on my GT premium don't match colors from drivers side to passenger side on all the colors. Some match, but case in point, if I set it to red the passenger side will be red and the drivers side green. I'm not too concerned about it, because I like the light blue and they match at that setting. Mostly just curious about it.

Something's wrong. Bring to dealer. Or try non 50th area where they may know more. Ours don't have then and this thread is about possibly adding them.

Installed supplied wiring harness today

I decided to go ahead and install the wiring harness supplied with my illuminated sill plates, following the instructions for a car *without* factory illuminated sill plates. It took me a couple of hours to complete and all worked fine in the end. I opted to splice the three color wires on the sill plate together for the white color option. Pics attached.

Sill Plates installed

I installed my sill plates but took a different route trying to get all colors working without a lot of luck
.

I bought a LED controller with a remote to control the colors and make them flash.

Well ran into some problems. The ford sill plates use reverse polarity which is the opposite of what all the controllers out there are wired for. As a result I could only make one color work by reversing the outputs on the controller.

They must have a diode or something in the sills because simply reversing the - and + wouldn't work. it had to be pos on the color wire and neg on the hot.

I have them wired for blue and it flashes slowly when activated.
