After almost a month of ownership I'm still trying to figure everything out....even after reading the OM I still haven't been able to figure out the accessory mode.....How am I supposed to wash the car and listen to the radio  ....How does one listen to the radio if you want to stand outside the car without the motor running???...I know by pushing the START button without touching the brake pedal (automatic) turns ignition on but engine light and blower fan are on which tells me the ignition is HOT and I don't want to do that if I want to just listen to the radio or am I wrong....Duhhhh....what am I missing here:shrug:

If I'm not mistaken, don't push brake and or clutch and just press the start button.

The blower motor should only be on if the climate control is on. Press START once for accessory, twice for ignition ON.

Well... I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this afternoon all I did was press the power button on the radio to turn it on. I did have the key in my pocket. The radio played for a long while and then automatically turned itself off. I had to turn it on again to finish washing the car. I suspect this is a safety feature built in.

On newer cars, once they started not having an accessory position, but before push button became common, you put the key in the run position, which kept the engine light on and the fan on a low setting (on some models). Perfectly ok.

That's what the owner's manual says to do. I have to assume the ignition is NOT hot since it's not trying to start the car until you press the brake pedal.

Just push the power button on the radio
Well I'll be damned - that works. ;)

Don't press the start button, just press the power button on the radio.
