At a 100K, it would be a toy for me. I'm not spending that kind of cash to have it beat to crap in commuter traffic. So that allows me to get this.

No, roof, no ac, and you smell like exhaust after a run. These cars still draw a crowd wherever they go, but not a car for 99% of drivers/owners out there. Not original, nor do I care. It is functionally and mechanically better than the originals. Although I prefer Rangoon Red with white stripes, but this would do at the moment.

$93,500, leaves room for a couple sets of rear tires. 2500 lbs/517 hp.

It is 100% a toy and this car is gorgeous.

Anyone know if there’s a good GT40 kit car or anything like that? I’m not opposed to building the car at all…

There is a GT40 replica, which is a continuation model made by SuperFormance under license from Shelby. They are currently selling for around $140k. There was one at a recent local weekly show that highlighted exotics. I talked to the owner and got to look at the car pretty closely. It sure looked like a GT40 to me, but I'm no expert. SuperFormance does make an excellent kit, though... if you don't want to pay for the continuation version.

There are a handful of companies that make really good GT40 replicas. This is a great site to watch if you are looking for either a GT40 or Cobra: https://www.cobracountry.com/ford-gt40s-for-sale/

Since Ford vs Ferrari came out, prices have skyrocketed.

I love my Cobra and it gets tons of attention. It is almost 600HP in a 2,200lb car. It is also very impractical - no heater, no AC, no top, no radio, etc. I will never sell it, but I joined this site as I eventually would like to buy a GT350 for those days where the wife and I want a few creature comforts and can bring the golf clubs.

Having once owned a 911 turbo, which I miss every day, I still think that is the best all-around car on the planet. Track it in the morning. Wash it after lunch and valet it for a fancy dinner that night.

Holy Christ I never considered an Aston
for a car you aren't gonna daily this is a pretty good option if you aren't looking for a focused sports car or worried about potentially expensive repair costs.

Also, i'd consider an F-type in a heartbeat if i was in that price range and didn't need a back seat.

tons of great options.

Because I can’t afford a 992 turbo S at the moment, I’ll say gtr… for 100k you can find a decent fbo 2015 (about 90k + tax and fees)

it will look pretty next to the mustang… trust me. Totally opposite from each other

I grew up dirt poor, from 16 I worked my dick off for 20 years and now am an extremely fortunate person. But yes, it is good.
I feel you! I was the same. Both my parents fucked up their backs when I was 16. Had to quit school and work 12 hours a day. I had a house payment and bills to pay. It sucked but I’m glad it turned out that way.

Now I’m retired get to enjoy it! Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for doing well!

I’m not anywhere near retirement but that’s not far from what I went through. In retrospect I’m glad it happened too.

For 100k I wouldn't want any on your survey. Audi SQ7 or 8 and work from there.

All are very awesome choices and can't go wrong either way.
I voted the '71 Cuda as it is such a bad ass car and just the looks alone are menacing.

Good luck!

I would invest the $$ in 2-3 properties and collect rent.
