I installed a Steeda H-Pipe not too long ago and have been having issues with the driver side tips wanting to hang to low. Anyone have an idea on how to keep it aligned? I thought about some of that exhaust sealer stuff, would that work? Thanks!

It’s a constant battle between good and evil on that one.

Buy some better clamps that are steel reinforced. The thin ones can’t hold it in place.

Would you be able to point me towards some? I looked the other day for a bit and they all seem to be roughly the same that came with the h-pipe. I'll have another look as well. Thanks for the response!

Just lower the axleback, bend the muffler hangers slightly (the hangers closest to rear bumper), reinstall and check tip alignment. Repeat until your tips are centered exactly the way you like them. I went through this about 5 times on my passenger side with my FRPP Borla Extreme catback (I have OCD). You can put the hanger through one end of a large socket wrench to bend the hangers. You can bend the hangers in any direction to force the tip to go right/left or up/down.

My right tip was low. I placed a piece of wood between the hanger rod that is welded to the muffler and the frame. I then took my bottle jack and lifted up on the welded rear edge of the muffler with another piece of wood between the muffler and jack. I just slowly jacked up the muffler until the muffler hanger rod was bent to the correct angle. It took several try and check before it was finally aligned correctly.

Thanks guys. I'll be giving all the above a shot in the event the new clamps don't hold the tips in place where I don't want it. Hopefully I can get by without having to wrestle it too much. I'll let you know.

I spent hours first installing my Borla catback. The side of the tip facing the licence plate on passengers side was 2mm away from the bumper. Several tries bending the hanger and it looks great now. Put hanger(closest one to rear of car) in a bench vice and bent it that way till I got it right.

I bolted in an American Thunder Flowmaster axle back. Which was really more like a resonator back. Gets rid of all the crush bent 2.25 pipe just past the axle. Anyways my first try on passenger side I did not have the hanger hooked in properly. Once I loosened it and got it reseated it is dead on aligned with the quad tips both sides. Kudos to Flowmaster making a quality bolt on system that is straight.

I wanted let y'all know that the clamps recommended by NC85 did the trick for me. I no longer have any movement and I was able to line up the pipes nicely. Thanks.
