Went to the track today with new mods and ran 12.2's but with terrible wheel hop!!!!!

What does it take for a manual to get a good 60' and not wheel hop. I ran 116-118 mph but with 2.0-2.5 60' times.

Thanks in advance.

Seems like the main sources of wheel hop are 1) the rear cradle bushings, 2) the lower control arm bushing, and 3) the differential bushings. BMR has solutions for all 3. If you are serious about eliminating wheel hop you might want to address all three.

They recommended the cb005 and bk055 kits to me. I'm ordering both today.

You will get wheel hop no matter what hardware you swap out, on stock tires.

I'm on sumitomo's. Not sure how much different from stock they are, but there not run flats.

I have the bmr parts on the way. Hoping for good results.

I've got the same tires, I've got the bmr cb005, tca045 vertical links, and the steeda polly diff bushings... it's pretty well solid

It's been cold so not really had chance to test it good, but cradle lockout seems to have done away with mine. Money well spent IMO

The Steeda subframe alignment sleeves and subframe bushing spacers got rid of about two-thirds of mine. I'm hoping differential bushings and vertical links take care of the rest.

What you want are bushings and adjustable shocks. if you are purely after quarter mile times. If you want all around driving performance, you may want to throw in there some springs, or ditch the shock/spring combo and go with coil overs.

For drag racing, I'd say:

FTBR Lower Knuckle Spherical Bearing
FTBR Cradle Bushings
FTBR Lower Control Arm Spherical Bearing
FTBR Upper Control Arm Bearings
Viking Double Adjustable Shocks

If you want to go all out, throw in vertical links, toe links, and every piece of bracing you can find too.... The top 5 should do the trick though.

Those would definitely help. There is not a single doubt about it.

I have made a list to take the guesswork out of it for people, since I happen to have the best launching S550 in the world at this point.

That said, yesterday I replaced our CB005 Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit for our Delrin Cradle Bushings. :headbang:

Also, for a high powered drag race car you want to completely eliminate the differential movement with solid diff bushings. If not, it will cause damage. Trust me. :(
