Haven't looked at these, but the OBD port is under the dash in the driver's footwell on the left. It's pretty obvious, you'll see when you look under.

So this will work with the 2016 S550?

I had one just like it. The only issue was getting to angle correctly on the windshield.

You shouldn't have an issue with the angle. I have a HUD app on my iPad and it reflects on the right spot on my windshield.

Got one and it works very well.
In Europe where everything is kph (Mine is a US spec and kph is difficult to read on the speedometer) and speed cameras abound it is a lifesaver.

I want to like it. That unit is so tacky though... like a wall-mounted plasma tv with all the wires showing and hanging down to the floor. It's cheap I guess. I feel like if you could somehow hide the main projection unit so all you could see was the HUD on the windshield then it would be cool.

Maybe it's different in person. Still for $50 it's not bad if you really want one.

I really liked the factory HUD on my previous car, a 2001 grand prix gtp in midnight blue, wish my new stang had it, oh well.

Terry

Just installed the Heads Up Display-Car Unit. At first, I couldn't get it to plug into the OBDII port correctly. I found that I had to coat the male pins with dielectric grease so that it would fit all the way into the dash port.
I laid it just back of the defroster vents, which lowered the visual display out my normal viewing angle. The image was doubled because of the laminated glass...but by moving the unit farther forward, the numbers were not too hard to see. I probably won't install the provided display stick on panel...the glass reflection was good enough.
I just wish that the mileage output was available in English units rather than just metric, miles per hour is available along with temp in Fahrenheit.

Agreed, not a fan. I even like Mazda's HUD better than this with the flip up glass.
