Most of the tech is on Sync3 the voice and phone-calls, even reads out your text
If you don't have Sync 3 with the Nav, then might be worth a more detailed look

I love my HUD. Especially since reading the tiny kph marks on a US spec car is difficult in a hurry. It auto dims in the dark and is generally perfect. Crappy cell phone camera does not do it justice.

I miss my HUD I had in my C6 vette. That's really the only thing that car had that I wish this one did.

It's the Canadian spec, that has small mph the US spec has large mph. I have Canadian spec, get a free app on the phone which tells u the mph. That is what I have done

Had HUD in my BMW. Overated. If it was free then fine but I would never pay for it. Total gimmick IMHO. Oh yeah... One more thing about HUD. If you use polarized sunglasses you wont be able to see it. At least with the BMW one.

Also, I never wanted or needed a HUD in the Mustang. The Navdy was a project I backed 2 years ago, which finally started sending out units to their early backers. I had a completely different car 2 years ago lol

Something minimal might be helpful if done properly. HUD just for the sake of HUD isn't good enough. For my personal taste I'd like to have RPM and gear indicator. With the paddles the gear indicator is in the middle between the large gauges and not always easy to read in a hurry.

I'm sure it's better now or a different system that BMW used in the 2013 BMW 335i M Sport but I had to remove my Maui Jim polarized sunglasses to see it. I couldn't believe it myself at first. How much did you pay for the HUD? HUD is just going to be something some people like & some people don't.

My favorite feature of the BMW HUD was being able to scroll through my music to see what song was next. I use a 64GB card and always have it set to random so it was cool to be able to scroll to my favorite tunes. LOL

If the HUD isn't projected onto the windshield, it's a distraction imo. I don't like HUDS that reflect off a piece of stationary glass sitting on top of the gauges.

I rented a Camaro SS a couple years ago and it had HUD. I loved it and really missed it after turning the car back in after a week. It isn't distracting at all. You get used to it, glimpse at it now and then but it's not there screaming at you to look at it.

I am sure some truly don't like or want it. I would bet though most that don't want it either haven't driven a car with it for any amount of time or just don't want to admit they want something you can get in a Camaro but not a Mustang.

A HUD is certainly not a distraction. If anything it helps prevent distraction by keeping your eyes on the road. If the next gen comes with one I would like to try to swap the parts into my car. It's just so much easier keeping track of your speed with one.

If I can't avoid seeing it, it certainly is a distraction. It's not enough for my eyes to be looking above the hood line, I need to be focused on what's out there past the hood line. Not on any changing display that calls - demands, even - that you pay attention to it instead. Like I've posted before, getting something up above the dash top is fine. Just get it out of central vision.

Gibbo has just posted a pretty good example. Maybe it's a bit too bright, but that aside the constant change in the numbers equals movement, which equals attraction of eyes and attention away from what they really do need to be involved with.

HUD should be standard.

If it was, and it looked like Gibbo's or the one posted earlier, disabling it would be priority #1. Preferably reversible, but I'd need it gone.

Yes agreed its too bright, down to the transparent film which I shall probably remove as without that its dimmer and less noticeable.

Its not particular distracting though as its low down out of vision, bear in mind the camera is not my exact view point, I am further away and higher up.

I have it on my 2016 Denali and really like it I think it should be available on all track cars as I think it would work well at high speeds on a track.

When driving you do not see the box or anything, held phone rather high and closer to get a better video.

Still the film almost makes the image to sharp/bold, borderline distraction a HUD should be more a ghost image so it never distracts you, as such I am thinking of removing the film as it accomplishes exactly that.

I've had HUD in my last 2 Corvettes. At first I thought it was a cool feature but after a couple of months I really never used it. Having the shift light in my GT350 is all I really want from a HUD system.
