I have it on my 2016 Denali and really like it I think it should be available on all track cars as I think it would work well at high speeds on a track.

I agree that getting a speed display up and out of the instrument panel works particularly well for track cars (at least for drivers at the intermediate level). Easy occasional reference is fine. But I'm a little concerned that people might start seeing a little red mist shooting for new personal best speeds and be a little too intent on watching the mph's climb instead of the approach of their braking point if the speed monitoring is centrally positioned.

It takes about 50 feet to add 1 mph in a fairly powerful car. Add another 50 feet for the quarter second it's probably going to take to disengage yourself from speed-monitoring mode and you've just run about one full braking marker closer to the corner if you insisted on chasing that last mph.

HUD was a standard option on my 2001 Grand Prix GTP, dam I loved that car, the supercharged engine was sweet.

The darn midwest winters killed the thing though, after I had moved to Florida I had gotten in a tiny fender bender but the car was basically unfixable because most of the subframe had rusted away, it was crazy, actually the fender bender probably saved my life, got $3500 from the insurance company which totaled it, went out and got me my new mustang, lol.
