Not sure if this is the right spot and if it isn't please let me know.

I want to do a few HPDE events this year and was hoping some of you had some insight into the different groups that host events in the area. My schedule lines up really well with some of the PCA hosted events but not sure how they will receive a Mustang at a Porsche event. Will I kinda be shunned? Or is it like bike track days where everyone gets along regardless of who makes their bike?

Any other recommendations are welcome!

Westchester Cars and Coffee hosts a few events a year at Lime Rock in CT. Good group of people. Lots of porsches, a few Vettes, Miatas, all sorts of stuff. A few Shelbys.

And no, you won't be shunned, as long as you follow rules and stick with the appropriate skill group.

Hello there! Im in Maryland and have bene to NJMP a few times. I plan to go more north this year. I have driven with Nasa NE and Hooked on Driving at NJMP. Both great groups. MoeHPDE and Masstuning are popular in that area. I have not driven with them but plan to this year

Also feel free to use https://hpdejunkie.com/ to filter event by track. I find it extremely helpful when I want to drive a certain track.

Hope to see you out there this year!

Thanks for the feedback. I just signed up for an event at NJMP thunderbolt and am pretty excited.

Any advice on the track layout? I also plan to try to get to Pocono and limerock this summer are some tracks better suited for the mustang than others?

Hopefully we cross paths this summer!

thunderbolt just got repaved and they are changing the configuration. What is your experience level? I usually watch hours of track videos and walkthroughs before an event.

also how far are you willing to travel? Pitt Race and Watkins could be an option. Summit Point is my home track and I like Summit main circuit with our cars

I'm brand new to HPDE but very interested in becoming a better driver and having a bit of fun. Recently picked up the Mach 1 cause I have had this itch for a long time.

I do have experience woth motorcycles but that was a long time ago.

Nice. I am sure you will enjoy it. I would recommend running with NASA NE or Hooked On Driving. They have great instructors.

I would still recommend watching a few videos to get used to the track layout but don't want to overwhelm yourself with information as far as driving skills. You'll spend the first couple sessions getting familiar anyways with other drivers who are doing the same.

Fortunately NJMP has two courses you can choose from. Lightning is easier to get familiar with but still fun.

Thanks for the insight. I plan to sign up with NASA NE a bit later in the summer. Was a bit bummed their earlier season dates didn't work with my schedule as i have heard great things.

Will definitely look to add hooked on driving to the schedule. Having a few tracks in the area definitely helps when looking for dates. Really interested in getting to Pocono later in the season.
