Does anyone have any experience with either HPDE events? I am looking to do one or the other in Texas, but APEX would have me on a waiting list. I figured I would try and see if anyone preferred one vs the other, or had any additional information regarding the quality of instructors, etc.

They're both good, I'd sign up for either. Drivers Edge probably takes classroom a bit more seriously.

IIRC Edge Addicts is run by the DE's guy's ex-wife lol.

Do them all including BMW clubs, Porsche Clubs, and etc. They'll accept other manufacture cars as well too and you may find having this level of flexibility means more options for the month to track. This will also help you get out of the Novice club quicker if that's your end goal. I will also say don't rush trying to reach a higher run group because once your out you're no longer getting free instruction and you'll have to pay an extra $100-200 for an instructor/coach. If you're looking for a quicker pace what you can ask and this is dependent if your instructor trusts you're ready is to try the next run group with guidance from your assigned instructor.

I plan to do many events (that I can afford), but I'm not interested in rushing through the process. My main goal is to learn and develop good habits so I don't go flying off into a ditch. I've done a bit of research into some of the Porsche, BMW, etc. clubs and plan to join one - right now I am just trying to determine which of the local chapters has more events with instruction.

Most thorough, but albeit gradual progression will be with The Drivers Edge. Give them all a try though. NASA is another one.

Try them all. See which you like better.

Edge Addicts if you care about most track time for the money. Drivers edge would be my last pick tbh, owner is an asshat and tried to rip me off.

You can get more track time in a 1 day event with Edge Addicts then you'll get with a 2 day Drivers edge event as well.

I've only run with TDE, 5 weekends. I like and highly recommend them. I understand they are more strict with rules and order, but that makes it generally better and safer for all, especially newbies. Their instructors have all been great too.
