Sounds like she is taking the whipping a step further. She must wear the pants around your house...
Haha nah I tell her do what ever you want to the house but not to my garage. Thats all I ask
I know what its like having a commute, so I think you made the right choice with the EB

Better teach her stick though, how else will you trade cars every now and then?!
She knows how but she always wants me to drive for some reason and never likes driving when we go out. But ehh we shall see, im sure shes going to wanna swap cars more often then we do now.

Whats up guys, well i ordered a EcoBoost premium with PP a few days ago. Now that i ordered that my girl/wife wants to order a 5.0, not to show me up but because shes always wanted a mustang. Her dad has 66 fastback and 69 chevelle SS so i understand why she would want one, but like c'mon im going to have an ecoboost and her a 5.0 it kind of makes me feel less of a man..

Basically how would you feel?

I would feel great...Having one of each to drive....:headbang:

Its unfortunate, but fortunately shes cool and doesn't complain about what I buy or do with my money. As long as my priorities are taken care of, were good

Funny how people use the commute excuse but then plan on modding the car. What do you think will happen to your MPG? Just get the GT and keep that stock. You'll have more power than the modded 4 banger and have better MPG making that power.

Can't use that as the excuse if you plan on modding.

Her sudden decision to order a 5.0 only after learning of your placing an order for an EB could be an intricately planned strategy to get you to change your order to the "real" Mustang while you still can; for some women fear being with any man (if you can even call them that), who drives anything less than a V8.

Additionally, multiple studies have concluded women have a tendency to be with men who exhibit similar characteristics to their father. Considering her father's current stable of vehicles (and likely those she was exposed to growing up), she may have devised this scheme as a way to preliminarily eliminate any possibility of seeing you in a less attractive light, coupled with her probable subconscious concern of losing daddy's approval (how will she possibly explain/justify your purchasing a four cylinder vehicle? Telling him you purchased an import with a four cylinder engine is bad enough, but a Mustang with a four cylinder? ... Unbearable!)

My advice: think this through very carefully, and proceed with extreme caution. Your decision here could alter the course of your relationship/marriage, and consequently have substantial permanent effects on your quality of life.

If you're worried about gas mileage, don't get a Mustang. Period. Get a Honda Civic or Hyundai Elantra. Go big or go home. A Mustang without a V8 is just wrong. No matter what the EB will sound like a little rice burner. At least your girlfriend gets it. You could always buy matching purses with her though, lol!

Pure facetiousness! I have found this thread to be quite humorous, so was just imparting my humble contribution. ;)

In all sincerity, OP, the "manliest" thing you could do is get what you really want, and tell your loved one to get what she really wants.
