Private parking doesn't even exist at my current lodgings. It's $150 a month at my office, which makes it even harder to settle for. I'd have to take 2 buses and about 1 hour of travel time to get to the car (public transport).

The struggle is real!
That looks like a main street, are there any smaller side streets nearby?

I try my best to avoid parking on the street at all costs. ESPECIALLY in NYC.

Check out the bumper bully that you can keep hanging over your rear bumper when you're parked in the street. Hey, it is better than nothing.

Also, check out that bumper thing you can put onto your license plate, or keep the orange cone, lmao!

P.S. - If you do buy the bumper bully, don't be a lazy bastard! Make sure you put the BB back into your trunk when you're not parked.

I don't think I'd be able to sleep at night with my car parked on the street. Not even sure I'd be able to sleep without it parked in a personal garage... hell...

Short story:

I never street parked my car until I met my wife and traveled to New Orleans religiously. Within a month of driving there and parking HALFWAY in the grass my car was dinged. I got it touched up and continued to "Street Park".....found my front bumper on the ground the next time.

I hope you have better luck than I did.
Good old New Orleans. Sounds about right. Lol.

Thanks for all the comments!

Basically, when I bought my last two Mustangs I lived in a house with a private driveway and garage. But now I live with my girlfriend in an apartment and have limited parking options. We live just outside DC in Arlington, VA, and I'm not gonna leave my life for some dumb car! All these "I'd never street park" comments are from folks who don't have my life! Besides, I private parked my car at my dad's place and he proceeded to back his RV into my S550. So.... We're doing our best!

no one's even mentioned parking at the supermarket yet!
That's an idea. You wouldn't expect to get towed, though?

Week 2 and still looking good! Gonna be taking it back to my parents' house this weekend where I'll wash it and wax it with 3M Synthetic Wax. Keep your fingers crossed for me, guys and gals.

We live in Chicago and would NEVER park on the street. I've watched these punks try to back some mid 90s Buick boat into a spot sized for a mini cooper and they use their bumper to literally push the cars out of the way. We have one spot in our condo but happily pay for our other spots. Check out craigslist. Lots of people sublet garage spots in bigger cities. I figure it's either pay for a spot or pay to repair the inevitable front bumper, rear bumper and vandal damage.
Parking by feel is the norm on the Northside of Chicago.

"Parking by feel". That's awesome. I'll probably never forget that. It's a terrifying concept, but I can't say I didn't use to do it on occasion when I had a less nice car.
