I just snapped in and made sure it moved freely. Used a little oil to lube it as well. Only hard part was accessing the rearward most screw that holds the oil pickup tube. That was on the GT coyote motor though. Not sure if the pickup is differant on the voodoo motor. I had heard that it is in some way and the oil pan had to be dropped. On the GT I did not take off the oil pan. check post #329 in link below.

You have to drop the pan to get the oil pump out. Pick up is attached to the pan and it slides over the oil pump. No two bolt flange like the GT has. To drop the pan you should raise the engine. If you don’t want to raise the engine, it can still be done by removing the oil pan bolts and dropping it the inch or so you have to work with. However cleaning up the old silicone off of the pan with only a couple inches to play with is frustrating.

It’s a PITA on this car vs a GT.

I'm surprised a sealant is used at the oil pan interface. The composite pan assembly includes an integral molded o-ring like gasket. I wouldn't think an additional sealant would be required? Interesting.

It only has sealant in 4 places. Where the block meets the rear main on both sides and where it meets the front cover. So at least you don’t have to scrape the whole pan. But those 4 spots aren’t super easy to get to.

Were I adding a blower to this car I'd take this one on. I'm not here to light the fuse on this one but for me, I'm good with Ford's "factor of safety" with respect to the stock gears/sprockets. That is not to say that I don't like the aftermarket pieces - I do.

Apologies on the possible :threadjacked:....

Spoke w Mike at ANWBL, part M-6600-M52 expected ship date is 12/29/17. Cost to us $602.80. This is about the same price as the coyote billet oil pump. Mike states price could be lower w enough interest...he’s not really interested in a group buy at this time.

Back to original programming...

You "MUST" raise or pull the engine or drop the K member to swap the oil pump / gears on the GT350/5.2

Trust me. You must pull - lift or drop the k member. The 5.2 does not have a bolt on pick up tube it's part of the pan.
Trust me, I know. And still, it’s not required to lift the engine or drop the K member. The 1.5” clearance given is enough to get the pump out.

Look. Explain to me where your getting the 1.5" of clearance?
Their is none! You only have 5/8-3/4" of oil pan to k member clearance. This is NOT like the 5.0.
It is impossible to pull the oil pump off the crank snout without dropping the oil pan because the pick up tube is apart of the pan itself.
Don't try telling me you can do this without dropping the oil pan.
