How many speeding tickets have you gotten? Were the officers aggressive or being rude?

Speeding…2. Been pulled over for speeding at least 4 other times and left with a warning.

I havent had a ticket of any kind in years. After COVID there seems to be basically zero traffic enforcement. I rarely see CHP either except in well known speed trap areas

Four I can remember for sure, so probably about 6. Decades ago, one was so excessive it counted as careless driving. Several warnings too. I've mellowed with age.

Yep, the insurance company will take a bite out of your budget.

i got a speeding ticket three times in my life. Two were back in the mid to late 1990’s, last one was about two years ago. First two I went to traffic school in person, last one was online school. All three were reduced to parking tickets.

I am sure I have been pulled over at least a half dozen other times for speeding and other stupid kid things in the late 1980’s, early 1990’s, but never received any other tickets. Grew up in a small town where the police didn’t have much to do other then watch teenagers.

Funny part is I have owned four mustangs in my life, have never been pulled over in any of them. Other then two years ago, my other tickets and being pulled over were in a 1989 Toyota 4x4 pick up with a 116 hp 4 cylinder. Don’t need a fast car to attract attention.

You know your're being profiled driving a car like a Mustang, it's all part of the "experience." I use to keep a log of the numerous traffic stops I got during my youth driving a modified Trans Am set up for autocrossing. (Non of the tickets, speeding or otherwise, held up in court.) Now that I'm a senior, I'm still waiting for my first traffic stop for driving my Mach 1 "noise maker." Metro Detroit promotes the anual Dream Cruise yet residents living along Woodward Ave., one of the busisest roads in America, don't like the noise and want to give the police more power for subjective traffic stops.

I have had plenty of speeding tickets with my previous owned cars (Evo9, 335i) but every time I have been pulled over (about 6 times) in my mustang, I have been let go with a warning. Cops will usually ask me what I do for a living afterwards...

This is like buying a house next to an airport, and then complaining about the noise and demanding the airport be shut down because it is lowering your property value.

It happens. Ive been driving for 30+ years.

If you have a new model car (like an S550 back in 2015), expect to get pulled over more. 3 times in 60 days right after I got the 2016. Much of my young life it was 1 time a year like clookwork.

With Waze on the carplay these days, I rarely get pulled over.

If you’re nice to the cop and do the right things to make them feel safe, they’re usually friendly. One time I got profiled after dark and they called for backup, but other than that it was a boring stop because I didnt give them any reason for it not to be.

Use your blinker, pull over /quickly/ on wide shoulder or get off the main road. Hands in view and window rolled down. Then wait for them to tell you what they want. A good chunk of the time if you do that you’ll just get a warning. Drive a ways and make them guess if you’re gonna run or pull over, or pull over in a spot thats dangerous to them because of proximity to moving cars and I’d expect a ticket.
