MT82 2.75qts Rear Diff is 1.59
Info can also be found on Royal Purples website. I did both my trans and diff and can verify this is correct. I bought 3 qts of Synchromax and 2 MaxGear 75w90. You will need a hand pump. The 3+qts that is listed above sounds like what the s197's took with a solid axle IIRC.

Yes, I did it for that and maintenance reasons. I changed all my fluids at just under 1100 miles. When I did, I decided to make the switch to Royal Purple. I have always read good feedback from members, and I called their technical service department to have some questions answered about their lines of oil, and their customer service blew me away, particularly by one rep named Jim, who I have called again when deciding to do the trans and diff as well. I was looking to improve cold start shifts. The Synchromax helped a lot. Still notchy at first when it's below freezing, but an even bigger improvement over the stock fluid when warm. RP will tell you it's not warranty compliant if you're worried about that. I think it's because I couldn't find a spec listed by Ford to try and match if you didn't use their DCT listed in the manual. I personally don't think Ford would deny a claim mainly bc I don't think a dealership would notice if they had to drain the trans...
