I found this set up on YT while researching exhaust options and I love the sound but had some questions.

I live in MA, and the exhaust laws are ridiculous. I'm looking for a set up that gives rumble and low end but that isn't incredibly loud.

Any MA car guys/girls with modded exhausts that could chime in would be awesome.

Set up is:

Mishimoto H
Corsa Touring
Vibrant Performance Resonators

That won't be crazy loud at all. Quieter than the Sport catback.

Yeah, it sounds reasonable. I've been looking into it and no where does it specify the DB limit.

I called 2 Lou's Custom Exhaust shops and they wouldn't tell me shit lol

That set up wouldnt be really loud. The Borla S type w the H pipe is even deeper than this combo, and around the same volume.

Okay, so pretty close to stock?

My problem is that I love that Outlaw rumble but hate the volume. So I'm thinking H Pipes, Resonators and Axle Backs as a work around to both the law and the volume.

With the resonators on the Corsa Touring would be quite tame really. However I don't think that it would give you the low end rumble that you may want. Corsas tend to be on the higher pitch of tones, and really shine in the higher rpms as you increase throttle.

Yeah, that's the problem. I love low end rumble; almost that gurgle like tone. Flowmaster does that in spades but they're way too loud. My dad's GT has the Outlaw Catted and holy shit.

I was thinking Magnaflow but they're too bassy. Not a fan of Borla, so I'm leaning towards Corsa/MBRP/Mag at this point.

None of these options will be that close to stock volume. Significantly more, but there's a pretty wide gap between stock and very loud. What you're looking at would fit neatly near the middle.

Have you thought about AWE axleback?

I love Corsa but if you're looking for that deep rumble, they're not the typical option. They're deeper than people give them credit for, but not deep compared to Borla/AWE/MF.

No, I actually haven't.

The middle would be perfect. Because my main issue is that the law doesn't state idle or WOT for inspection.

I'll check into the AWE now. Thanks!

Yeah, they're wicked loud.

I hate that stock exhaust but I'm limited in what I can do here. They put cameras in the bays, so it's not like I could work something out.

If you are only worried about inspection time, why not v band flange the axle back portion and swap between stock and the flowmaster every time you get inspected? Now if you are worried about police that’s a different story lol

FRPP/Borla touring AB is what you are looking for or a used set of gt500 mufflers. Low end rumble, not too loud, better than stock. It took me 5 different exhaust combos to get it right. H pipe, X pipe, welded in bullet resonators etc. Love my combo now.

It's funny because I just settled on the FRBB Sport Cat Back as it states that it's 50 State Legal. Plus, it has enough rumble/gurgle for my liking.

I was thinking about the Roush AB but I'd rather do the full cat as this point.
