Hi all,

About to order some hood struts and just wanted to confirm if they would work or not on our cars. I am looking to get the Ford Racing hood struts, want to keep the OEM look where possible. These are the ones: http://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-rac...nce-logo-v6-ecoboost-gt-2015-2016/p/M16826MA/

I know some people say to only order the redline ones specifically designed for our hoods but I don't want those. Will these ones attach fine and is there any altering required to work? Has anyone here purchased and installed them yet?

Cheers,

David

I don't have these but according to the info on the website and the video they will fit on 15-16 ECO/V6/GT just fine.

Just worried about them fitting with our RHD hoods though. They are different to the US hood due to the explosive safety feature.

By looking at the pictures, they look identical to the Redline. Which means worst case scenario you'll just have to do minor modification to it (filing it down), it'll fit just fine.

Disclaimer: Just my opinion by looking at the pictures of course.

Ok thanks mate. So what had to be filed down on the redline ones? Do you happen to have any photos?

Cheers

I made an installation guide for this. It should be a few pages back on the Aus subforum.

Try Herrod Motorsport in Melbourne. They recently brought in a whole shipment of Ford Performance gear including these, they can give definite answer on how they fit.

I'd be interested in the feedback as I haven't got around to checking up on them.

Cheers

Herrod motorsport and their 'special' parts made specifically for the mustang. Hopefully there is actually a change!

They said they had to make some small adjustments and are including a guide with them. Not sure what they had to change. If they weren't so outrageously overpriced I'd buy from them. Not willing to support them though with their current pricing. They are asking $185 plus shipping. I can import them for $120 including shipping to my door.

Let me know how you go mate! Some photos along the way would be great if you are able to? Going to place an order now from cjpony, enough comments here saying they should work.

I'm that flat out that I only go a chance to take the car out of the garage for a small cruise this past Saturday for the first time in 2 weeks.

Thanks for that, I didn't realise they were that expensive. Which supplier did you get the $120 price from? I'll follow it up as I'm keen on a set.

Cheers

Edit: I just saw you mentioned C J Pony Parts in another post - is it them?
