Gday guys. I'm new to the forum. I bought a set of the Ford Racing struts from CJ Pony Parts. They fit really easily and work well. The only difference is the battery cover position for our rhd cars. I had the install done in less than 30 mins. They make a huge difference to using the support strut.

Thanks for that, I didn't realise they were that expensive. Which supplier did you get the $120 price from? I'll follow it up as I'm keen on a set.

Cheers

Edit: I just saw you mentioned C J Pony Parts in another post - is it them?
Yeh mat CJ pony. And if you go to the CJ pony section of the forum on mustang 6g, you can request a coupon code for a discount on your order. They will pm it to you.

Awesome. Are you able to upload some photos of them installed for us to see?

Cheers

Sorry new to all this. Here's another pic.
Thanks mate! They look great! So no modification was needed to get them to fit our cars? Just the cutout hole on the battery cover?

Is there any hint of bonnet flexing / bending at the strut?
I read some people experiencing this problem, not sure if it applies to OZ spec mustangs.

I had the same thoughts regarding flexing, I thought redline had larger bracket to deal with this but unsure if that works with our mustangs?

No hint of bonnet flexing. No mods either except the hole in the battery cover. The inner guards even have the recess where the brackets fit so a very neat finish. I read though that they're not suitable for fiberglass bonnets. I guess that isn't a problem with the stock one ex factory.

Just one thing to look out for. Don't rest your spanners or brackets on the sill in the inner guard. There's a gap between it and the upper frame. I learnt the hard way and had to go fish with a magnet.

Great to hear mate, thanks. Mine are currently on their way from the states. Will be here long before the car is though..

I've come across this from Levittown Ford Super Centre; great price at around US$72.00.

I've been looking at the OEM strut tower brace from them for some time now and am trying to get the brace and struts included in the one order but in their online shop they end up in different carts! Aussie dollar is a bit higher now so I think I'll proceed if they can combine the items.

RSPEC-015, send a pm to Benny from Levittown Ford from here on mustang6g...he will do a combined shipping invoice for you and may do a bit better on the price.

Thanks Bob,

I've done that and just waiting for him to come online. He gave a good freight price last time (around US$85 for the tie bar) but I held off as our dollar a bit low.

On the subject of tie bars (strut brace) Mishimoto have developed one which looks very interesting. I'm trying to find out if it will fit our RHD GTs.

Is there any issue with the gas struts interfering with the explosive safety feature on the bonnet?
