Hello all,

I recently had the hood open to do an oil change and when I shut the hood (fully shut) I noticed that the hood ajar alert will not shut off. It’s been a few days now and opened and closed the hood multiple times but the alert will still not turn off. Any ideas? Would I have to have the sensor replaced?

Disconnect the battery, let sit for 10 mins, reconnect. If the fault appears again, then you need to check any harness connectors for the hood or surrounding ground connections.

Also review this link about how to adjust your hood and/or hood latch so the hood closes properly. I had posted this a little while ago - has the info and images for adjusting the hood and hood latch:

You may also have to drop the hood from a little higher position (say 12” or so). I’ve had this issue pop up a couple of times and that’s how I’ve gotten around it.
