That's what I have always noticed with my 2014 GT 5.0 Mustang, and my 2015 GT 5.0 Mustang, I have never seen the noticeable difference in useing 87 octane or 93 octane in the tank, my two cents worth on the the too fuels....
You won't be during normal driving conditions because the variable valve timing will compensate for the low octane. It will de-tune the engine and drop compression by closing intake valve early. It's when you run the engine hard, you will start to run into not getting full power because of pinging.
I mean come on. 40k car can's pay the extra a buck or two for premium gas?

All we have is 91 here, so that's what I run. Once the car is broken in, a 91 tune will be fine for me.

Hmm....not sure if Ford's tunes are setup to automatically adjust for higher octane. I thought that is what the aftermarket tunes are for. But if the tunes are not adjusted for higher octane, the slower burn will actually make less power.

It has knock detection and will advance ignition timing if it can.

I highly doubt you are seeing any difference using 100 vs 91 being such a normal compression 11:1.
What you are feeling different is probably some adaptive throttle response or if you have an automatic, shift points.
With that being said, if you guys have ethanol in 91, that can lower your performance.
100 % huge difference. Im not using straight 100 octane. Im mixing it with 91 to create 94 octane.

I never said the car is making more horsepower or torque but it is certainly driving MUCH better and is very smooth and responsive. Before it felt like the engine was maybe knocking. Now it feels and sounds much more healthy.

I drive my car hard. I use all the RPM's. The higher octane def helps. If you drive like miss daisy you may not notice a difference though.

Filled up the stang for 27 bucks with 87, left the gas station put my foot down and had a smile on my face :) 100 octane is cool, just more beneficial with forced induction to see noticeable gains :p

Only 2.00-3.00 more per tank TOTAL to run 93. I have never understood why someone would run 87 in a performance vehicle.

Actually would have been 8 dollars more, but if I am going to the drag strip I fill up with 91, this being my commuter car 87 works just fine doing 35mph lol

Do u drive the car hard? You won't notice a difference if your shifting under 3k rpm.

$8! Wow. We start with higher gas prices here, but 87 to 91 is like an extra $0.20/gallon.
