I tried to pry the two diggers and bend them a little but no luck, they always get back to the same position. However, I managed to take the clip out by lifting them up and inserting a very thin plastic card (iFixit phone repairing cards) cut into a small square. Once inserted into both sides (each side has a small plastic card fitted underneath the diggers), the clip could slide off easily since it’s not biting the trim anymore.Gently pry up the two pointed tabs on either side of the main center tab with a small flat screwdriver. Once these are lifted, the clip should just slide off. Bend the two pointed tabs back down before installing on the new trim. They kind of dig into the plastic to prevent the clip from backing out.

I really dislike them but dang they sure do hold well.
