Nice.

I know it'll be hard, but try not to let the anxiety get to you. It seems to help if you can keep busy enough with other things to put it out of your mind most of the time.

I ordered my '08 (which I still have), and before that I did the same for a 1979 Chevy Malibu that I kept (and kept modifying over the years) until 2012. There's a lot to be said for "everything you want and nothing you don't" with respect to having a car end up as a "keeper".

I am thinking the same thing. I can't imagine wanting to get rid of this any time soon.

I have heard for the Euro 2017 Stangs, one of the mods is "the car makes you a cup of tea"
:D
The one thing that you will have to remember, is if you get a fastback you are good to go on a 2 mile road course. Most will not let you on without a reinforced roll cage in a convertible, even for a fun type "drive your car on a track for a half-hour" type session. At least that is what I found when I looked into it at our local track.
yeah, I will have to look into that. Once my son gets a little older, I think I'd like to get him into karting. I have an old F250 that would be perfect for lugging one of those around. he's 3, so I have time to figure that one out. For now, I'll just enjoy the weather!

Should be a great car! There is something special about ordering your own.
Yeah, I believe it's called "waiting 5 weeks."

Me too. This was the first car ever ordered. It was worth the wait. Is also the nicest car I have ever had
I'm not looking forward to the wait!

Like others mentioned, it depends somewhat on your tolerance to the elements. Our convertible Mustang is a motorcycle substitute after 40 yrs of biking. We rode our bikes through Arizona in July and home in Canada when there was snow on the ground. We love our convertible and so far no heat or cool days have stopped us from having the top down.

The 6g Mustang convert top is excellent. When it is up I feel like I am in a coupe, but with better headroom. When it's down, well...that's why I buy them. And performance is still there. I don't run it on the track, but some do.

Rent a convertible...that's how I got hooked. If it doesn't hook you, don't buy. You'll know.
I rented one a few years back. Worst thing I could have done, as I was instantly hooked. Then I rented a 2015 ecoboost. Loved the car, but the eco wasn't for me. Ordered my GT/CS vert in March, got it in May and haven't been able to wipe the smile from my face since.

For me having a convertible is like owning two cars for the price of one. My car may be a little slower than a coupe, but who the hell cares. Still can haul ass and looks great doing it

Convertibles aren't for everyone, but if you like the open air feeling, verts are the way to go

As for looks and body lines, I think verts are gorgeous with the top up or down.

I'll just have to stare at my wallpaper on my computer for the next few months while I drive my 1995 F250 single cab to work and back.

Unlike a lot of cars, the Vert was made to look different and has different body lines i read, for me looks great roof up or roof down
took my old S197 all over Europe, only got caught once by the rain
Was on the Autobahn cruising alone, past all the big lorries, when suddenly the heavens opened, quickly pulled over, 20seconds later back on course overtaking the lorries again, who this time did give me some interesting hand gestures :D
Mind you with this one, I have never used the caps as then you would have to get out the car and remove them, the older cars never had them

OP, I drove an 86 LX (Fox body) 'vert several years ago, and have been 'hooked' on the 'verts since!

Each time I sell one, I wind up missing it and get another. I've had a 94, 95, 98, 14, and 16 (not necessarily in that order). The S550 is, by far, the best!

well, turns out that a GT convertible with performance pack doesn't exist here, so I'll be putting an order in tomorrow morning!

2017 GT Convertible in Oxford White
Manual Transmission
401A
GT Performance Pack

That puts me at a $47,835 MSRP.

Everything I want and nothing that I don't. I've never ordered a car before!
That's a pretty sweet setup, FWIW, I didn't order, found my perfect car on a lot (had to ship it from MD to FL ... ) but I did get like an $8K discount.

Just one more recommendation before you order:

There is an upgraded interior called Premier (not to be confused with the Premium car trim level). It's very cheap, $395, and you get better seat materials, soft touch door surfaces, real stitching on the dash, shifter, armrest, seats.

One of the Premier color options is red, which I think would look stunning with white (and in fact, was one of my potential choices), with neutral colors, it really pops (my car is black with red premier/Redline interior, plus you get red door inserts), however, if you're into a more subdued interior, it's also available in black (with light stitching, like a silver, almost white, would also look killer with your exterior color).

Seriously, do it, so worth it, and it's easily looked over.

oo nice. I do like stitching! I wish I liked the other interior colors (yellow or red) because that would really be worth the $400. decisions, decisions.

Oh man, I am totally geeking out right now. I have an excel spreadsheet with payment options along with equipment packages and how much they add per month. This is great. getting very excited now.

It's totally worth it, look at it this way, you're looking at a ~$48,000 car, so the Premier interior, is what? About 8/10ths of a percent of the total cost. :)

Like I said, the Redline would be _hot_, but since that's not everyone's thing, the Ebony gives you the better quality with the same color you'd get anyway :D
