Chocolate for your mom and a good job for yourself. Doing it yourself feels sooooooo good. Not to mention, totally your chocie if you're paying for it.

Do you folks realize that this thread is a year and a half old, and that the thread starter himself hasn't even posted on this forum since April 2015? You're wasting your breath.

Every old topic I see, I assume it's because goldengooner decided to necro it.

I'm not against necro'ing topics if you have a reason, but damn it's getting old.

I have 2 degrees and a millionaire father. I paid for every cent of my education. It is a right of passage as far as I am concerned. I won't be paying for my daughters education either. SHe will be fine. As for auto vs stick, you don't pay you live with what they want.

I know this will come off as preachy....but I wouldn't buy a muscle car for an inexperienced driver. I've seen too many teenagers wind up as roadkill after testing the limits of a brand new hotrod bought for them by mommy and daddy.

Get something safe to tool around in that's got some cargo space and room for a few buddies in the back. When you finish college and get your first job, treat yourself to a fancy new sports car.

I don't understand the dislike towards this guy, who's probably sailing fine in his Mustang... didn't we all want a Mustang when we were little, and if we had the means, as well as parents who were willing to provide, can't we all just be grateful for what we have? Sure, there are brats, but there are also a few good young adults. As for the argument... I have said that the old "the auto costs more" works more often than you think, for anyone reading.

My parents agreed to not kill me as a reward for getting into college.

Getting into college for me was, "Welcome to student loan debt!" Thankfully, I only have 4k left to pay off. Reward for getting into college? I went on a cruise for my high school graduation, but not a 30-40k car was there for me.
