I would only keep the mustang if I was wealthy and could afford a family hauler that was just as nice and new as the mustang. If your family hauler is old and questionable I'd say your priorities are off. The mustang is a great car but in the end that's all it is. If I have a kid on the way I'll ditch this car so fast your head would spin. Momma and the baby would be riding in a new under warranty family car so we could take the family down to the park for our walk along with the stroller, dog, etc..

I agree with this also. I would also consider the safety aspect for a newborn child. Rear-facing car seat in the front seat would be a no-go for me. My mom did it with my younger brother in a 1999 Camaro and it was scary as all hell. Also, rear sear crash safety ratings are only 4 stars compared to the front seat 5 stars. If your family hauler is not 100% reliable, I'd spend money on that before the Mustang.

I am betting you could get one of those hitch mounted bike racks and fab it up to hold a car seat. Doesn't get much more accessible than that.

yall can have your family cars or some family suv all you want. mustang has more than enough safety combined with a car seat and we've seen ton of pics on how these cars have held up...especially ones that have flipped and roof still didn't cave in.

i refuse to have some boring family hauler and conform to this thought that you "have to have" a family car...my mom had a 300zx and a 3000gt when I was growing up so it's nothing new to me. my wife's got an suv if we need the room still but take a lucky guess what the 2 and half year old and I would rather ride in lol.

if i'm going to have a car payment it's at least going to be something worth paying for but there is nothing about my mustang that says it isn't safe for my kids or myself.

but at the end of the day it's yall's money so do what you will.
