Well that sucks to hear. Mine just started doing this, looks like I'm in for the long haul at the dealer. Thanks for your reply to my PM Jeff. Keep us informed. Mine will probably get dropped off Saturday or Monday.

I'm thinking one of two possibilities:

1) a pinched (or damaged and therefore reduced to only a few strands of copper) wire on the blend door actuator take-out.

2) a piece of debris in the door opening (or interfering with the movement of the actuator arm)

I like #1 more, and it would explain the issue you have had.

Please do post your results!

No results yet......They called Thursday Morning Nov 16th and told me they have called the Ford hotline for help, Engineer help, so they say. As of Tuesday Nov 21st haven't heard a word.

Interesting they mentioned it could be the wiring harness and that it seems to be a big issue with the Ford Mustang. I busted out laughing because it sounds to me they were on the internet looking for fixes.

Well, they replaced the blend door actuator and that seemed to work. For how long is the question.....:ninja: They said they pressure checked the AC and it was fine. I'll keep everyone posted if things go south again.

Heard from the dealer just a bit ago. Ford suggested they run a few test. After the tests they decided to change the harness. EDD is Tuesday, so I should see some movement next week.

The the opposite problem happen to my Mustang for the first time yesterday on a unseasonably warm day. With the A/C turned all the way cold the drivers side vents blew ambient temp while the passenger side blew cold. If I changed the A/C temp from cold to heat they all seemed to blow heat.
Had this with compressor whine. Changed the evap coil. Problem fixed.

No I don't, I assumed it was the HVAC harness. I'll find out which harness next week when I talk to the mech.

I received the Car back yesterday @4:30pm 11-30-17. Exactly 2 weeks and 1 wrecked loaner car later. Oh, and $500 out of pocket for deductible.

The heat is working again, let's hope I'm done with this issue. They replaced the harness with no joy, they continued to troubleshoot by shooting wires. Everything came back to the blend door actuator that they had already replaced, so they replaced it again and called it good.

I've attached the last completed work order in case anyone wants to view or can use any information.

Well...that seems straightforward, alright. The most telling part was when they swapped the parts and the concern followed the suspect part. So the logic was sound (to replace the part - again)

These components rarely malfunction, but - like all electromechanical components - a certain percentage are faulty right outta the box, and the rest eventually do fail. It's inevitable.

Time will tell!

Thanks for following up.
