10r80 Failure

Hello I recently traded my 15 pp in for a 2018 Gt A10. On multiple Facebook forums i have seen several 10r80 cars transmissions going out with very very low miles. One of my good buddies failed with 2000 miles, they found metal shavings inside and ford was not able to get any parts for it for 45 days.I was curious if anyone else has experienced this? Its kind of pushing me away from modding my car.

I purchased my GT on Jan 20, 2018 and as of today it has 6K miles on it. It gets driven in stop and go driving around D.C. as well as long highway drives. I have pushed it to redline many time in the last few months. So far, the transmission is flawless, fingers crossed it stays that way but if it gives up I have the warranty to fall back on. If Ford cannot provide a transmission within 30 days, I will have Ford buy it back under lemon law. Unfortunately, the 2018 GT is having more engine issues than transmission issues at this point so I think you will be alright. Good luck.

What was the cause of failure - and was it on a GT or EB?

What was the cause of failure - and was it on a GT or EB?

It was a GT Peromance Package, he was driving and the car felt like it locked its brakes and got stuck in gear he said he lost second and third gear. I am trying to post the screen shots from Facebook on here
