If your engine oil and coolant levels are good, no worries.
Also, I leave my digital gauge on "oil temperature" so I know when it's ready to step on it!

My 2016 hasn't been ordered yet but I read the manual before my last GT MT PP test drive and that was the first thing I did was bring up the oil temp gauge. It's the only way to be sure and I plan on leaving it up because the water temp does not completely indicate when you can go with WOT, from my old school perspective.

Do you have to pull up the oil temp every time you get in the car or does it remember where you left it?

It stays where I left it (on the oil temperature gauge). On my '69 Mach 1, I had to keep an eye on the temperatures and get moving when it heated up too much since the engine was so worn out . I apply the same philosphy to dirtbikes and my GT

If you think that's hot you should have felt and seen my Camaro nasty hot. The Mustang runs cooler and has hood vents. By my cup holder it heats up a bit but I think it because I have the blowfish racing bracket and that metal is close to the tranny.

is it a GT PP or GT,

overall I can't really help as I've only got 2,000 miles in 6 months but on my 400 mile trip I did take when it was 75 degrees out I didn't notice nut I drive my GTPP like a grandma on the street and save the hard stuff for the track and I don't like RPM's over 2100 on the highway. But this is my first 3.73 rear end mustang/car and I trip on constant high RPM"s.

Besides I know my car fast and have no reason but to show off. I've only had a 98GT try to race me but really I didn't care to waste my gas and it was on the street which I want do. And yes I don't care to get a ticket or go to jail.

I have a GT with the performance package. Yea going over 70 MPH will get your RPMs around 2300-2400, I had to get use to that. I had a base 1SS wish I never got it, but that's in the past sold and gone. The Mustang drives and feels like the way a V8 car should feel the Camaro did not. Now I know what normal is with a big V8 after owning the two and I have to say the Mustang is all around better. I don't know about the 2016 but I really don't car anymore, I happy and that's all that matters. Yea these V8s get hot its a normal thing, I would just watch old temp, cylinder head temps and coolant temps.
