Headlight tint--HELP!?

I purchased a set of Headlight tints (35%) from Slick Mod that I think are the same that Anchor Room sells (the ad has the same car). Installed them and they look good with the headlights off but when I turn the lights on, there is a brownish filmy appearance that ruins the look. :doh: I followed the instructions but there is no way I can use these if this is how they look with the lights on. Has anyone else had this issue?? is this something that just burns off after some time?

Any advice would be appreciated.

get the blackout corners from anchor room instead. but it also is probably worse if you didnt buy the recommended anchor room or laminx (american muscle) etc kits.

This. I've gotten away with insanely dark tint on my windows and not having a front license plate for years but the cops around here really don't like tinted head lights. I'm not sure where you're at but I feel like tinting the headlights, in addition to being a bit unsafe, is really asking for trouble. I opted to go with the blackout corners from anchor room so I can cover up those horrid amber corner reflectors while leaving the headlights themselves untinted. Besides, I think the headlights look pretty cool untinted anyhow but that's just my opinion. So, I'd definitely recommend trying out the blackout corner vinyl if you don't like how the whole headlight tint looks.

I got the American muscle kit and have no issues at all. And it doesn't come off as appearing brown to me.

I have the amber lens side tint and love it. Gives the car a subtle look..it doesn't jump out at you. It looks better, but people don't know why it looks better.

Did you cut the pieces of the kit or how did you get them?

They come pre-cut, all you have to do is install them.

I used a hair dryer, it helped them form to the light and fit to it better. It takes a bit of work to get the tint to stay stuck in the right spot, but once you get it, you're good, then you just work on getting the bubbles out. I started with the head lights, then did the rear bumper quarter lamps, then the tail lights. The last few pieces of tint went on in no time after I got the hang of it.

i think this is not only the better looking option, but also the much smarter one as we got really tough regulations of police and TÜV in germany...:tsk:

And I agree, it looks great and still allows normal functional use of the headlights.

The nice thing about Anchor Room is if you mess up a piece of tint, they will sell you another one at a discount rate. Since you're in Germany it might be worth it to see what they would charge to just send you two complete sets, just in case something happens, so you don't have to wait on shipping.
