Headlight ballast issue troubleshooting

Folks, I though it was just my headlight bulb, but after changing it and checking the fuse. Still no bueno.

Is it common for the actual ballast itself to take a dump?

I had my first s550 for 3 and a half years, never had a light go out but try swapping the ballast with the one that’s working and that should give you your answer. probably gonna have to take the bumper off to get the headlight assembly out but it’s fairly easy to do so. Could also be a wiring issue. Just be careful with the bracket that hold the bumper to the fender on both sides, the plastic bracket is very easy to break on 15-17. they changed it 18+
