ive contacted my tuner and they dont seem to know for sure. ive searched thru the threads i could find but never really found a definitive answer. so im looking into getting some catted headers, however i live in reno NV and we do obd readiness checks only. does anyone know if or how i can pass obd test only with a set of catted headers. my tuner says they can keep my o2 sensors on but i also dont want to throw codes. any input will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

mods in sig if that helps at all.

due to the higher flow cats youll get an inefficiency code, they can turn the rear sensors off but that will be an automatic fail, your best bet is to call an emissions testing center out there and ask them, some states allow a certain (1 or 2) number of not ready, but I believe some are an automatic failure

I was in your same position as I have to do OBDII readiness check as well in my state. I asked Lund to provide a tune and Jon Lund Sr. replied back with a tune with all OBDII monitors on as well as rear O2's. I have yet to try it, but worst case scenario, I do have my stock tune to flash to pass, then flash right back afterwards.

As long as you have an intake on the stock MAF curve, you can use the stock tune to squeeze by that test. I ran for a week on catted headers and no tune and got no CEL. I know it would eventually happen, but it's not something that happens instantly.

You'll have to drive around for a bit if you flash back to stock or on a tune with the sensors and monitors turned back on for them to function and pass that test.

Yes, you can turn off any or all of the sensors in the car so that they don't display a code but it also completes the readiness tests that they scan for in the inspection process.

Just make sure you tell this to your tuner specifically, as most just simply turn off the code from displaying the CEL on the dash but don't actually make it so the readiness tests also complete.
