I have a '17 GTPP with a 3 inch MBRP Street catback exhaust. Now I want to add headers and midpipe. Do I have to also get it tuned to run long tubes?

Yes, and I'd recommend a tune from Lund.

You don't HAVE to, but you will get a CEL for cat inefficiency, even if you run headers with high flow cats. There's other ways around the CEL without a tune, but if you're doing headers, you may as well get a tune anyway.

And for what it's worth, Lund doesn't do anything specific for headers. All they do is turn off the rear O2 sensors, but they do that for every tune unless you specifically tell them not to for emissions purposes.

you very much should get a tune once headers. once i was intake/headers and exhaust on canned tune for the intake as soon as i went to in 1000+ elevation i'd get cat codes p0420/p0430 and the car was running lean (aka not enough fuel) i stopped driving it asap and had a custom (on the dyno) tune asap.

No. Kooks headers with green cats sometimes won't throw a code. If they do, folks have added a spacer to clear it.

car will run find with longtubes, but you will get a CEL from the 02 placement.

Your car will be LOUD as stated previously. I am running headers with high flow cats and solo's 3" mid range system (larger resonator than their race version), and under full throttle it can be heard for quite a distance.

I am not. Catless headers and stock catback sounds pretty reasonable though. Not sure about OP
