I have read several threads on various headers for the s550. However I cannot seem to find where anyone them discuss the gains vs each other. It's not debated that kooks and American Racing are the best, but how much better are they than say Corsa or Texas Speed Performance.

I am mostly just curious as I already have a corsa 3in cat back and I know corsa headers are built to bolt right up, yet they don't offer a catted mid pipe. Basically are the top brands worth the double price tag over TSP??

Yes. My ARH headers connect directly to my 3 inch Corsa system with no adapters. It's a direct fit and a full 3" from front to back.

Do you still have the part number?? The ones I found all go down to 2.5 to fit the factory exhaust

I went a slightly different option. And just had a muffler shop cut me a 3 inch pipe. And weld it in the place of the 2.5 reducer.

I went 1 7/8 ARH with catted direct connect to Corsa catback. Came with all gaskets and sensors no additional hardware needed.

Just find a header that fits your budget and will give you less hassle installing your catback exhaust. There is a finite amount of space and most of the headers look like each other due to space limitations. Some have different sized tubes and there can be slight differences with power and torque, but if you stay with the 1 7/8 size, the hp difference will be negligible. Too many debates about foreign and US made headers. Each person stands by what they purchased, besides the 1% on both sides that have had issues.

I went with OBX headers and I am satisfied with what 433.00 bought me. Adding 2 inches of stainless tubing to the extension pipes to fit my 3 in Corsa was an easy fix for me. Others prefer more turn key for more money. Quality of the welds were very nice on mine.

I wish I could find some realistic gains from each company.

From what I have found it seems that there is agreement that ARH, Kooks, and Stainless Works are the best in terms of performance.. anyone find anything else??

My buddy just put on Pypes headers on his 2018 it made 31 more HP on the dyno. Pypes are half the price of my Kooks, similar numbers, look & fit good for the 18.

What other mods did you have?
JLT CAI - full E-85 tune and X—pipe. Those mods gave me 55 HP on the dyno.

Headers - cat delete and re-tune gave me 30 more.

i feel like they all look pretty much the same so i feel like price, catted vs non catted, weld quality and coatings should be the meat of the differences. i cant imagine anyone is making headers that look the same but somehow produce a bunch more power than the next

Most header companies offer various connection types. I would stay away from BBK. After messing with them on a friend's car, the welds suck and the overall build quality sucks.

Look for headers that aren't stepped, meaning the whole primary is 1 7/8 and that they don't neck down at the collector. You also want to see a merge or scavenger spike. Companies it different names but it serves the same purpose.
