Then I guess headers aren't in your future because that's how much they go for these days.
LOL, no way man. Not even ARH cost $1500. I think they are closer to $1200. MBRP and other mid-level brands are around $900-$1100. TSP, OBX, and others are less than $600. No header is worth $1500 for a street driven DD Stang.

I for one am GLAD that Texas Speed finally heard our cries and is getting into to Coyote market.

Ya'll keep paying $1500 or whatever for polished stainless longtubes.

I'll just be over here paying a third of that for my polished stainless longtubes.

Same here with my OBX headers ($620 shipped) which look almost identical to the Texas Speed headers and also stainless works as well. Polished 304 stainless 1 7/8" with 3.5" collectors and bullet resonators on the mid pipes designed to look like cats.

So I checked various prices. Yes SP has headers under $1000 but they are off-road. Catted versions are $1k. ARH and Kooks are in the 12,14,1600 range whether catted or not.

I heard mention of OBX and Texas Speed. Please forgive me but I never heard of Texas Speed and I always thought of OBX as a generic brand made for sport compacts. I never hear of OBX etc, how is their quality and fit? Especially since the one brand recently got into the coyote engines. Money aside I tend to stick to well known brands that the majority of the community use.

Someone said $1500 isn't worth it on a daily driven Mustang. What would it being DD have to do with it? If it is your car wouldn't you want the best you can get for it? I wouldn't put crappy wheels or tires on a $44k car.

Those Texas Speed ones look nice. Let us know your results. I read the OBX's were hard fitting on the previous gen. They said if you spent $1200 on headers it wouldn't have been a 6 hour job.

it has an engine!
You get what you pay for. While header designs look similar or almost identical it can change the sound of your exhuast to bad or great. For example the corsa sports and extremes sound far better with arh then the SW US made Lt's. So while you might save some money with these far cheaper pieces, it can make or break the sound of your catback. That is something you can count on. If you doubt me look up hypermotives comparison

LOL, I have those and TSP saved in my Ebay account!! I also have some cheaper no-name brand headers saved too!! Just goes to show, you don't have to pay mega prices for headers. Keep me posted on the fitment and quality when you get them. I went with OBX on my 2010 Camaro SS and could not have been happier. I'm just eager to see how well they fit on the S550. If I keep my 15 GT, I'll be going with OBX or TSP...if not the cheaper ones!!!

People said the same thing over in the Camaro forums about the cheap headers. My OBX headers and OBX 3 inch exhaust sounds downright killer and has no drone at all. At WOT it sounds like a monster. Most of the sound you hear comes from the mufflers BTW.

Lots of brands out there guys some for way less money than ARH or KOOKs etc
You can wear a Rolex or you can wear a Seiko ,both keep great time and will last for years . Headers have little features that do set them apart ,seeing the difference is where you spend your money

Im aware where it comes from. However overall tone can be cleaner or dirtier, deeper or tinny sounding because of the header. Also sound quality is subjective.

after being at mustang week... i can confirm that at least with corsa... headers make a difference in sound quality... stainless works with corsa sounds radically different, especially at idle or very low rpms compared to arh with corsa.

I mean it was more than an obvious difference. Major League Infidel was definitely right about the tinging sound with sw over arh...

not sure how obx or those tsp headers would effect sound or how the quality actually matches up with arh and kooks. the quality difference with arh and kooks is hugggge though over sp/sw after seeing them all last week in both welds and lazer cutting. As much as I want to save money, I'm going arh whenever I get around to it for sure after mustang week.

Does any dealers know if arp makes a stud set for the coyote that use these studs?

The wall thickness of the primaries definitely effects sound especially inside the car and up front close to the engine. Pypes uses 18G (1.3mm)which makes them extremely light weight but they have a lot more "noise". OBX uses 16G (1.6mm) and I'm willing to bet stainless works/power likely use 16G. Texas speed says they have a 2mm wall thickness which is 14G and ARH most likely uses 14G which would be quieter than 16G and a lot quieter than 18G.

TSP has been around for years. I remember them from my 4th gen fbody days. They are huge in the LSX world. Neat to see they are doing stuff for the coyote platform.
