Wife's 2016 Mazda 6 Grand Touring car is having a problem with it's rims. I have never seen this before, there are air bubbles UNDER the clear layer.
Have any of you had a car do this? What should I do with this issue?

Did you purchase this car new? Do you know if it had any rim repairs? It looks like a bad clearcoat job.

My 16 ‘6 did the exact same thing. Mazda put 4 new wheels on it under warranty.

It is on all of the wheels. The warranty expired in February of this year, and NOW it shows up

Unfortunately, the warranty ran out in February.

That sucks. On the plus side, it's going to be easy to strip off the clearcoat but what a pain to have to get fixed.

If you have a local powder coater, that could be an option.

No Earl, nearest powdercoater is in Palmtucky or Bakerspatch. Unfortunately, we cant't have that car out of service for more than a couple of days at a time. Driving ugly or PLASTIDIP FTW. Prolly get them painted before trade-in.

Finch - What did Mazda tell you about the failed finish?
