Has anyone tried to plastidip the chrome around shift boot?

I did the shifter trim, cupholders, vent trim, gauge trim, dash, and the side vent adjusters in flat black.

It is all flat black. The flash from my phone makes it look like there is some shine to them.

How did you pull those pieces off? Did you paint them in place?
judging by a mgw install video, it's pretty easy to get the shift boot and cup holder out, but no idea how to get at the rest of the dash without removing it.

we'll wait to see what he says

Nice job. Thinking of doing stain clear Plasti-dip on my pieces. Would like to see how best to remove dash panels before ripping them apart.

I was just about to ask if there a clear plastidip. What is "stain" clear? Do they have something with maybe a light charcoal tint?

Yes there is a couple versions of clear "smoke" looks great on chrome stuff. More coats makes it darker as you go.
