Did you just get that? I ordered 4/22 and don’t have any confirmation yet that anything was actually ordered.
I got this last night, but I’ve been getting updates since about two weeks after I ordered.Did you just get that? I ordered 4/22 and don’t have any confirmation yet that anything was actually ordered.
Some dealers do the right thing and turn in your contact info so you can stay somewhat informed. I didn't get anything from Ford.Did you just get that? I ordered 4/22 and don’t have any confirmation yet that anything was actually ordered.
I love the game. Also you should always negotiate the price of the new car before you ever mention anything about a trade. In March when I ordered the Mach from a local dealer, he agreed to 2% under invoice to match Granger and $32K trade for my car, which was a good number at the time.
Since then I’ve been checking Carvana and Vroom weekly because of the crazy used car pricing from the chip shortage, and got a $37,300 buy offer from Vroom. (Carvana was $32K.) Forwarded that to the dealer and said if you increase your trade offer to $35K I won’t sell to Vroom. He said the deal was he gets my car because that’s his only chance at making money, and it’s harder to get a Mach now than it was in March too, so if he doesn’t get my car the deal’s off and I have to pay sticker for the Mach. He said he’ll buy my car now for $35K, I’d just lose the sales tax advantage of a sell now vs. trade at delivery which is around $2K.
So at a $35K sell now I’d be $1000 ahead of a $32K trade in July so I probably should have taken it but I said if you’ll split the difference with the Vroom offer and buy now for $36K I’ll bring the car up tonight. He said he’d get back to me, wouldn’t be surprised if he calls back in a few days and says see you in July for $32K.
No way I’m backing out of the deal because I’d never get one ordered for 2% under and receive it in July from anyone else.
Ah the negotiation dance…. I hate it.
That’s sucks you are now tied to the trade even though you made the deal on the car before it.Yep I started with the 2% under invoice and once they agreed to that we worked on a trade value. They offered $29K but I got them up to $32K, again back in March that was a good deal.
Here is my tracking timeline, notice how dates don't jive. Real timeline-- accepted 2/2/21--built 3/28/21--at dealer 4/6/21. And look at shipped, WTF, but at least I have it. Not all that accurate.I think I have good news. This morning my link said the M 1 would be at Granger Motors in 4 days. Just now it says the car is "in production".
Has anyone had this experience? If so, how long after "in production" to arriving at the dealership?
My car went into production March 23, shipped on April 17, and arrived at the dealer may 5. The tracking site said in production up until the car shipped. Had an estimated arrival date of may 27 right up until the minute it came of the truck the afternoon of the 5th.I think I have good news. Damn Deja vu, I heard the exact same story, maybe there is something to it. Compared to my Shelby this car is a masterpiece. My car went into production March 23, shipped on April 17, and arrived at the dealer may 5. Im still not sure what the delay was after production. I got an email from Ford saying they were taking the time to make sure my car was up to my expectations and that was the cause of of not shipping yet. Ultimately it showed up without any clue as to what held it up. I would say the fit and finish is better than I expected so maybe they had to address something that was caught before shipping
The only thing I can find is the rear deck lid is not perfect. Doubtful anyone else would notice but I do. My wife thinks I’m crazy for pointing it out but it’s off slightly. Don’t know if it’s worth taking to the dealer because from what I see on the lots it looks better than most.Damn Deja vu, I heard the exact same story, maybe there is something to it.
