Test drove the GT350 a few years ago, my son and I fell in love with it. While this may not be popular, I'm just too nervous about the oil consumption and engine failure issues I've read about to consider buying anything out of warranty and brand new is above what I"m comfortable spending right now. i know that it's not the most cost effective way to approach it, but a dealer has a leftover '19 for $1k off MSRP. The thought occurred to me...would they be open to leasing it? Gives me a new car warranty and enough of a runway for me to be comfortable with it before deciding to purchase outright.

Has anyone else had experience in leasing their GT350?

Lease or buy that isn't a good deal. I got almost $5k off MSRP on a '19 a year ago.

a year ago things changed, (can't say gt350) but every car used and new, ran out of supply and demand was rampant. not sure how prices are today, but I feel like the days of getting a good deal new is going to be gone/harder to come by

I mean people was literally selling 2-3 year old mustangs with a ton of miles, for more than they paid for them.

You will never want to lease a prior model year of anything. The residual will be too low and you would pay more per month vs a 2021 model. Even if you can lease, you only want to lease the latest model year. Ever once in a while a manufacturer's leasing arm may subsidize the old models and make the residual artificially high to help dealers get rid of old stock. I can guarantee they will not do this with a GT350 from 2 model years ago. If you want a 2019, you would need to buy it.

On another note, the failed motors are completely overhyped. Yes, some failed. Considering the number of these cars out there, I don't think you need to worry.

Honestly I've never seen a lease on a regular GT much less a Shelby. After 3 years the resale value take such a hit that the monthly payments would be ridiculous. You can get a lease on a nice EcoBoost. :giggle:

Yeah, that makes sense. There are brokers that will work a lease deal for most any car I believe, but clearly better to keep current. I have noticed that cars.com has a number of GT500's at MSRP, but those are also a year old at this point.

Last June I got my new ‘19 at 5K off msrp. I know it’s a different time and low mileage used are just a few dollars cheaper than what I paid new.
BTW Ford will not lease these cars, even current model year GT500’s.
All the above said, the past model years GT350’s seem to be going up a little recently.

Well I'm an old fart so I was just doing a last hurrah for payment I could make regardless of how much I would end up loosing which was way lower leasing So (yes!) you can, so I did leased a new 2016 and then after driving it a year a new 2017 Shelby GT 350. Drove it a couple years and had GM owner I know buy out the lease and went back to a new truck not leased but a loan, since I'm a truck guy. Had a hell of lot of fun driving them. Never tracked them and no problems having to put anything back to as delivered. Remember (which I didn't like) if you lease you can't do any accessories you'd like to add. You have to turn car back as delivered replacing wear and tear items like tires if not within depth specs. Sure I lost money but I didn't give a s**t. At age 73 at that time and retired I just wanted to get that hotrod thrill one last time. And I got it for sure with the Shelby GT 350.

One, Ford does not lease their high end cars like the GT350.
Second, just bought my leftover '19 GT350 in December for $2500 off MSRP. Would've like more off, but once Ford announced in October the ending of production for the GT350, cars and deals became scarce.

Maybe Ford doesn't lease with a Ford lease. But both my Shelby 350's the Ford dealership got me the leases through US Bank and both had a lease for 5 years (but released the 17 after getting rid of the 16 after one year of the lease.

Pretty sure you can lease any car you want. To your point, just b/c it's not on their website doesn't mean it can't be done.

OK, just to clarify, yes you can get a lease but not through Ford Credit. Your dealer will have to go though a bank. If you still have doubts just call them.
