My Gt350r has the shaker audio system in it and I am very underwhelmed with the way it sounds. Has anyone done an upgrade or have any brand recommendations?

Old notes I had lying around from my 2016. Pasting without reviewing, so hopefully they at least provide a useful starting point for you. When I have a chance to dig deeper I'll post a more coherent parts list.

- Replace Rear Speakers

Goal: replace speakers and keep factory amp - didn't want to go all out and run wire everywhere. I wanted to keep the noise cancellation/engine noise. This is the 9 speaker system (non- B&O).

Therefore I matched the same impedance in my car minus the 6.5s which I wanted to get some juice out of (note impedance vary on cars). The other trick is the crappy 3.5/tweeter crossover situation. I added some real crossovers.

Door 6.5: Infinity Kappa 60CSX Woofer Only (Part # 062-0006-10216-E special ordered from Harmon) - 2.5 Ohm (stock is 4 Ohm)
Door 3.5: FaitalPRO 3FE22 - 8 Ohm
Tweeter: Dayton AMT Mini-8 - 8 Ohm
Center: Dayton PS95 - 8 Ohm
Rear 6.5: Infinity Kappa 62IX Coaxial - 2.5 Ohm (stock is 4 Ohm)

Tweeter Crossover: Dayton 6k-HPF-8 (2nd Order 6K Hi Pass) - 8 Ohm
Door 3.5 Crossover: Dayton 6k-LPF-8 (2nd Order 6K Lo Pass) - 8 Ohm

I added a full 2nd Order Hi Pass cross over in place of the single hi pass cap on the factory tweeters. I also added another 2nd order lo pass cross over for the 3.5s... the factory has none. Apparently the 3.5s suck so bad they don't really play highs.

The factory amp takes care of the crossover between the door 3.5s and 6.5s.

I also updated the forscan EQ profile to "1". This is the same as the non "premium/9 speaker" cars and the same in my Ranger. These don't have an amp. I've found this to keep the most bass out of all the EQ profiles. The factory "premium/9 speaker" cars have an amp and Ford included "bass rolloff" to keep the doors from rattling.

IMO sounds pretty good and I'm happy without any heavy sub. Good amount of punchy bass and crisp audio.

Unplugged the rear and dash speakers. I don't ride in the back .......... The center speaker is useless.
The doors are being done this week. Ford really cheaped out IMHO. Paper cone made in ROC . Gah! They simply paid for naming rights.

I replaced the door speakers with Morel virtus 603’s. I used some old Boston Pro tweeters as they were a drop in fit in the A pillars. Still using factory xovers and stock amp but the difference is substantial. Still planning to wire in the Morel xovers and run a more powerful amp. Oh, ditched the center useless channel too. That alone improves the overall sound.

Rarely turn the radio on. Even in 110 degree heat, i have the windows cracked so i can listen to the exhaust.

Naw, what's installed is great, as far as I remember.

Even with windows up, Mustang sings my favorite song .

Lightweight ? I average 25 to 30K a year highway miles. Around town ? No prob. It stays in sport mode. After riding Harleys for 50 yrs, my hearing is degraded. I'm trying to conserve what little I have left. Being able to hear my youngest great grandchild speak her first words means more to me than any frigg'n loud exhaust system ever will.
