I'm into the install, but the connector simply won't fit. If I put it one way, there is a lock on that is in the way won't let me connect the 2 pieces together. If I turn it upside down the connector doesn't fit at all.

See attached.

Am I doing something wrong or is this the wrong connector?

Those side notches are flipped backwards. So either a bad batch of connectors or perhaps a different year plug, perhaps a 2014 and lower the plug notches were reversed? Or your installing on the wrong stock location. Idk but I would contact the seller you purchased it from and contact the vendor for some help. Even if you cut the stock connector side notches to make it work the wires might be in the correct order. It sucks but now your project is on hold. Hope you get it fixed soon, good luck.

I installed one. Check with Justin, but if you're using the 2014 version, as I did, you have to shave off a plastic edge on the male connector for it to work. I used a straight blade and just shaved it down.

Any chance you have a pic of what to shave? I don't want to install the connector upside down.

Did you shave it off the vmp connector or the factory fuel regulator piece?

I don't have a photo, but it is a plastic line running down one side of the male connector that prevents it from plugging into the female side. Once that is shaved down, it will snap in fine.

Gotcha. So if you look in my 2nd photo down, that's the piece I cut right? If so I'll go try it now

Looks right. You'll definitely know. It'll either go on and "click" or not. If it doesn't work, just get in touch with Justin and he'll straighten you out.

Ok, I closed my fingers crossed my eyes spun in circles with a dremel and I seem to have gotten it.

The car starts up at least.

I'm not sure what it is called, but the stock fuel pump piece under the drivers side passenger seat, there are 3 fins. 2 on 1 side and 1 on the other side. The side with 2 fins, I shaved away the top one. It is pretty obvious which to cut when you hold the connector up to it.

In an attempt to clarify I am attaching a photo for those that may face this hurdle in the future.
