Hard shift?

I have a 2016 EcoBoost PP Automatic. When driving hard in sport mode, whether I am shifting with paddles or not, the shifts are rather hard. A little surprising actually, it feels like a C4 or AOD with a shift kit. Is this normal? When not in sport mode, it feels smooth as butter.

Mine is the same way and absolutely loving it, especially the downshifting!

Yes, when driven in sport mode the torque convertor is locked up so the transmission shifts hard and fast.
