Hopefully this helps someone.
I bought my 2018 GT used with 58k miles. I could tell it had been abused. I've put a good amount of work into it and it's much nicer than when I bought it. It has 67k miles on it now.
I hate trans flushes but I had a dealer do it soon after buying it.
The 10R80 never really shifted well. So nice sometimes but just clunky and not nice other times, especially in the lower gears. It developed a nasty, I mean nasty, lurch from park into drive last week.
I downloaded forscan, bought the recommended obdII connector and reset the transmission adaptive learning tables today.
I haven't driven it much since then, but after the reset some shifts into drive are literally perfect. It took a few shifts before they got better. Like the fifth shift into drive was butter.
I am planning to drop the pan, replace the filter and replace the fluid in the next few weeks. This really has to happen, but it's quite a task on these.
Anyways, resetting the adaptive learning tables might be a game changer for some people. I'm looking forward to see how it does tomorrow when I drive more.
To be clear it's not perfect now but early signs are hugely positive.
Any tips on dropping the pan?
