Not sure when they hit dealers, but they start building them today.

And from the documentary I just watched, 70 cars will get built today!
I hope FORD has fired all the workers that put together the 2015 - 2016 cars with all the crappy body waves and malaligned body panels! :headbonk::crazy:

Here's hoping FORD got it right for the 2017 Mustangs.

Job 1 production starts today!:headbang:

What does anyone do to pass the time while they await their new car?
Bought a house instead so I have to put the Mustang GT off for a while. :( I guess it's a smarter investment overall, lol.

Is this common and which areas are most affected so I know where to look closer?

Union workers used to mean something. It meant well trained, relatively well paid workers who actually care about what they produced and had family working there for generations. Now, It means NOTHING or worse. Combine that with greedy corporations with ridiculous production schedules
and you get a Mustang with misaligned doors going out the factory and into your driveway.
Regardless, the Mustang is still a great car that could be even better when built with the proper attention to detail the car deserves.

It has nothing to do with unions......it's all on the individual taking pride in their work I work for Alcoa we we cut plane wings (not as cool as it's cracked up to be) and we have people that if something's not right they stop then you have people who are there for a check and nothing more and just push it on to the next person

I'm afraid that 3rd year into making a model, that's where typically all kinds of cost reductions creep into the production process... So I wouldn't be so sure that 2017s are going to be that much better...
Whoever worked large scale production either on manufacturing or engineering side knows what I'm talking about...

Not really the workers' fault. Ford has two options here: 1) fire the workers who put the body panels on and replace them with robots (this is what most auto manufacturers did years ago) or 2) design the body so that it won't go together unless everything is aligned right (i.e. an Edward Deming smart design solution). The workers have production quotas to meet, and they shouldn't be spending extra time on the line eyeballing body panel gaps and fitment. It is inefficient use of their time at best...
