It's because the flap actually creates drag at lower speeds from what I read, not the down force
Technically it creates drag at any speed, that's how it produces downforce. On the street the downforce doesn't really do anything for you, but some people are willing to make the trade-off of looks for drag.

I am really torn on installing, but if I dont like it, I suppose it's any easy fix. I have a build in my mind where it works and a current build where it is a bit overkill. I beleive the Hertiage package tends to skew to the conservative side.

Takes 5 mins to put on and take off. No more complicated than changing a light bulb. Like it, leave it on. Don't like it, take it off. Change your mind or wife/gf has an opinion, change it. Easy.
