For that estimate looks you are getting a new not repaired rear end which is awesome!

Oh God your one of those guys. Lol. Always find it funny when people demand oem. Especially when it's like a Kia or something, like their parts are magically better. Only difference is one says the aftermarket name and the other says the oem name.

I'm sorry but a bumper is a bumper, as long as it fits who cares?

Got rear ended today as I was yielding to traffic. Accident not my fault. How much is this going to come out to? The bumper cover is trash, the trunk won't close, exhaust will need to be replaced, and the bumper has some damage to the metal. The other good thing was the driver who hit me had no insurance!!
sorry to see that, good luck with the repairs

Isnt illegal to drive without insurance? What happen if he harm someone?
The someone sues him for all he's worth which is probably a negative number.

Since he can't pay the fine for no insurance, he spends time in jail.

And how did these quotes go from realistic to ridiculous so quickly? Wouldn't be surprised to see people say totaled and get a lawyer. Mechanics will fix most of it without scrapping the car and re building the entire back end with genuine Ford parts to replace everything little ding.

In my state, you can't get a tag without proof of insurance.......therefore, you see a LOT of cars riding around without tags......LOL. And no, nobody gets jail time for lack of insurance, that I've ever seen anyway. If they had money, they'd have insurance, try to get a lawyer to sue someone with no insurance and no assets........good luck.

I didn't see any that were really THAT ridiculous. The estimate was pretty much $10k. If they find anything more while tearing it apart it's going to jump.

That's the case that I usually see. UI motorist hits car. Try to take him to court. They say "Oh damn. He's got nothing, good luck". It usually just ends up with a slap on the wrist and "Don't do it again". I mean you could take their license...but they were already driving illegally, you think they will change their ways?

It would be nice if there was mandatory jail time for no insurance, honestly 2 year sentences would be great, or if illegals instant deportation. None of this waiting around crap.

Uninsured drivers should be drawn and quartered.
OP, start looking for a new company. Your CLUE report is going to be a disaster for 3 years. You will be dropped soon. Speaking from experience here.
I lost my '95 GT convertible due to an uninsured driver. Of course it's why I'm in a '15 now and not still driving the '95.

9000 or more is the quote from the body shop. I can assure you it is way more then a ding. Picture does not do it justice.

Yup. Had someone hit us with no insurance. She still supplied an insurance card at the scene for the police officer... I guess that's all they check because it turns out it wasn't actually valid... We only found out later.

The police? Eh. Nothing we can do about it.

Really? Can't go write her a ticket or something? Nope.

She gets off with nothing and we were left with the $10k repair bill.

I still contemplate going to her house and messing up her car so she can't drive it anymore. She should be taking a bus anyway.
