Although I’ll admit I’ve been nosing around trying to find one I like myself, I personally think that article is a little clickbait-ish. Even though I’m kinda looking for the right one I’ll openly admit I don’t really know enough about them to jump into one. But that is unlIkely to stop me given my hot buttons are low price (don’t care about all the high-end options) and very low miles. Just barely missed a 7 mile 82K sticker car still in transport mode for 99K asking yesterday.

But in my case what might stop me is that both my ā€˜23 Mach 1s would have to go away to do the deal, one of which is a manual. I’m 74 but can still drive the M6 just fine, even with one new knee and needing another. I drove my M6 Mach about 60 miles today and had such a blast. I’d hate to give it up before I have to. And truth be told both my Machs are as fast as I can use on the street anyway. And if I got a GT500 I’d definitely want to drive it, so that kills any real collectibility. So I’m not positive why I think I might want one over a pair of ā€˜23 Mach 1s, but still I might.

When it comes to cars I don’t claim to always make the most logical and consistent decisions.

Tough choice.my 14 had 650hp.i took it to road atlanta for a training session and I got it up 140mph with top down.i then had pro drive it and he went faster he said 180mph in backstretch.great at braking and suspension and the feel of being pushed back into your seat with all that hp
Can't imagine 750hp.good luck.mineheld its value paid65k for it and traded it in 19 for 60k only had 6000 Mile's on it.

If you are going to collect it, I get the idea behind looking for a low mileage unit. If you are going to drive it, why bother? You can get a much better deal on one that has some mileage on it. Fair warning- Once you go forced induction, you will have a hard time going back to an NA car and enjoying it. I am just saying.

My thinking is that the lower the miles the less chance a previous owner or driver has had to screw around with it or even abuse it. Seems to me an awful lot of these cars were bought with the thought it mind that they were gonna be flipped pretty quickly. This wouldn’t necessarily make for the car getting the best treatment.

Not being able to still buy a new one is the biggest reason I don’t already have one. I missed my shot in ā€˜22 but family dynamics just weren’t right. Well, that and the insane ADM asks. But realistically I’d have found one somewhere for sticker I’m sure.

Had a ā€˜16 GT vert for 7 years. Got my GT500 earlier this year, the best decision I’ve ever made! Can always make more money, but no more making GT500s.
Especially with the GTD now being the way to get a supercharged mustang from the factory, getting into these GT500s for under 100k seems like a deal.

BTW: the 7-speed Tremec dual clutch is amazing!
