you'll notice that parts are same in both cars, like the side view mirrors, the windshield washer stick, driver door panel controls, not to mention all fords will have the same sync3 hardware module

I know emotions are high, but you guys are confusing the fact that I am agreeing with the information I am providing. I wouldn't accept the car either if I knew. They do have the power to hide it from anyone though
I just don't think it's legal to hide it if the car sustained damage. Shouldn't there be some type of disclaimer provided to the customer if the car was in fact damaged?

I'm on mobile right now so I can't research it

Each state has their own Laws regarding new cars. I know in GA $500 ( actual cost) paint repair has to be disclosed to the buyer on new cars. All other damage repair is 5% of the MSRP must be disclosed. But if you ask ....then all repairs must be disclosed. So ask anytime you buy a new car in GA. Sounds simple but I bet the average person never ask because it's new. You don't expect it to have been repaired.
I know a guy who bought a new Ford GT that had $18K damage from the dealership. The owner lost control in the parking lot and damaged the aluminum frame front fender and door. To this day there is no carfax on that damage because the dealer fixed it. Ford even issued a new sticker of manufacturing that goes on the door.

But what if the damage was done at the factory? And not the dealers lot

I think if it was at the factory the damaged part should be replaced, not repaired. If the part could not be replaced, the car should be sold/used as a Manufacturer Demo, not a new car. That's just my opinion.

I agree. If it's a wheel or tire fine body bumper glass no way

No distress here, I have both. And since I do own both, I know from experience which is superior. I love my GT, but don't expect it to be equivalent to my Lexus.
Now I'm really confused??? You say in your opinion your Lexus is superior yet you throw your money at an inferior product .....WTAF ?? What was your logical reason for the GT purchase??

I ordered a 2012 BMW 650i Coupe.... Had everything! They picked it up for service and left me with a new BMW to drive until it was completed! It was boring as hell and the first automatic I've ever owned! I know about waiting! From concept car to my delivery was about a year and a half!

Topic of the thread....." DO NOT STRESS ABOUT THINGS OVER WHICH YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL". ...makes your life a hell of a lot easier and makes you a better ( not bitter) person!

Lexus always charged way more than Ford for routine maintenance. Waaaay more. Free cookies? Ha.

My daughter had to finally sell her 2010 IS after only 3 years because her doors would unlock and lock ...randomly when she made a right hand turn into a parking lot. Sometimes the engine would shut off in traffic. Lexus refused to fix it because they said they wouldnt work on it unless she could demonstrate it. HOW CAN YOU DEMONSTRATE SOMETHING THAT IS RANDOM? Some service...will never buy one again. Her service costs were through the rooF compared to that at Ford. She came back once with a 300$ bill for changing oil, filters etc....

My point is simple. If you think kissing you butt at a dealership is free...you are wrong. dead wrong.

Lexus builds good vehicles, but you pay through the nose for service and parts are stupid expensive. There are no free rides.

And don't get me started on Mercedes...or Audi. Talk about bleeding edge.

I can play with my GT and mod it myself, it's like a hobby for me. I owned a 68 Mustang fastback long ago and the GT reminded me so much of that car. I can love/own both cars. I am not throwing money at an inferior car, I purchased the cars for different purposes and I love them both.

I had three Lexus vehicles with no problems. I had routine service intervals and it was nothing expensive. You can't blame the dealer about not being able to diagnose a random problem that does not trigger a code. Ask GT owners with manual transmissions about the "thunk" issue, my dealer still claims it doesn't exist. Thanks to people on this forum, I was able to correct it with a fluid change.

Well I know from being a mechanic on other vehicles that the "thunk" on a manual transmission often is from the slip yolk. Sometimes applying grease on the yolk or putting a coil spring inside the yolk to apply pressure to the driveshaft will stop the thunk. If this is your case. If it's heard when you come to a stop or a slow take off. Just my experience.

Actually, I did a fluid change as suggested on this forum and it solved the problem

I understand, but it may continue later down the road as the fluid breaks down. Applying a synthetic grease will help on the splines.
